Catherine Jones

Vice-Principal, Early Years & Elementary School

Ms. Jones is an experienced and passionate primary school leader who brings a strong commitment to inclusive, high-quality education to her role as Vice-Principal, Early Years and Elementary at Rome International School. She is dedicated to creating a nurturing and ambitious learning environment where every child is supported to thrive and achieve their full potential.

She is currently coming to RIS from the role of Assistant Head of Lower School and English Lead at RAK Academy in Ras Al Khaimah, where she has played a key role in driving whole-school improvement. She has led professional development, strengthened teaching and learning, and contributed to raising attainment across the school, including significant improvements in reading outcomes and overall student progress.

Ms. Jones holds a Master’s-level qualification in Special Educational Needs and is currently completing the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH). She is committed to developing staff through coaching and collaboration and believes that strong relationships and a shared sense of purpose are key to building a successful school community.

Ms. Jones is delighted to be joining RIS. She will be moving to Rome with her husband, while her two grown-up daughters continue to live in the UK. She is very much looking forward to becoming part of the RIS community and working closely with students, staff and families.
