Early Years & Elementary School Principal

I was born and educated in Scotland, graduating from St Andrew's Craiglockhart, Edinburgh. I taught in Scotland before coming to Italy, joining Rome International School over twenty years ago. I am currently the Early Years & Elementary School Principal, and my role involves supporting, coordinating and interacting with students, teachers and parents. The school is a community, social awareness and effective communication among students, Parents and staff are essential to its wellbeing.

My philosophy of education is that every child has the right to learn and receive quality education in a safe and caring environment. Teaching in a PYP international school is rewarding and enriching in many ways, as different cultures come together, every child bringing their own strengths and uniqueness, working and learning together.

I believe in the PYP programme as it focuses on the development of the whole child in the classroom and also in the world outside. It offers a framework that meets children's academic, social, physical, emotional and cultural needs to become independent, life-long learners.
