Niki Meehan

Head of School

I am originally from Scotland and bring over 20 years of international school leadership experience to Rome International School. I am passionate about creating positive, dynamic school communities where staff, parents, and students work together to inspire a love of learning and achieve the very best outcomes for every child. My goal is to ensure students thrive today while being fully prepared for the future.

I hold a Bachelor of Education from Edinburgh University and an MSc in Educational Leadership from Leicester University, with senior leadership experience in Jakarta, Shanghai, Bratislava, and most recently Prague British International School. In every role, I have focused on building inclusive, supportive, and innovative environments where both students and staff flourish.

I am delighted to be in Rome with my husband, while my two daughters pursue their studies and careers in Scotland. Outside school, I enjoy swimming, yoga, exploring the outdoors with my springer spaniel, and creative projects of all kinds.

I look forward to working with our full school community to foster collaboration, positivity, and future readiness—so that our students love coming to school and are empowered to shape a better world.
